The word ‘POOM’ comes from ‘품 Pum’ in ‘품다 Pumda(it means incubate) ’, and means to hold or carry something precious in one’s heart. It was originally used for practical purposes, such as as a water bottle or a liquor bottle, but it can also be used to hold flowers, and it is a bottle object that can warmly hold all the precious things in daily life in various ways.

With its history spanning thousands of years, ceramics are a representative craft of Korean culture and art, and ‘품 POOM’ will be an object that can present a new interpretation of Korean ceramics.
Feature 1
The biggest difference of '품 POOM' is that it is a ‘sustainable eco-friendly art object containing Korean culture and art.’ It pursues both excellent quality and beauty by using the new material Mitfreude crystal, which is made of crystal discarded during the semiconductor production process and has increased durability and reduced weight compared to existing crystals.
Crystal waste generated during semiconductor production
A new diamond made with Mitfreude
The Mitfreude crystal used in this product is an innovative material that can achieve remarkable growth as it utilizes waste generated in the semiconductor industry and 1. Reduces carbon emissions by 95% compared to existing crystals, 2. Is lead free (does not contain heavy metals such as lead), 3. Is high-strength, and has usability as an object in everyday life, stability, and sustainability. The strength of the eco-friendly material is that it can become a K-Craft product representing Korea not only in Korea but also in the European and North American markets where the need for eco-friendliness (sustainability) is growing.

Feature 2
In addition to its practical and eco-friendly value, POOM has the artist's unique creativity. The bottle object using 'Mitfreude Crystal' has the translucent material characteristics of the White Nostalgia series among the artist's existing works. This is the characteristic of the material used to make the work recall the vague but warm and pure past that we have left behind. I hope that 'POOM' will also become a medium that allows us to rediscover the value of the past in the white and translucent crystal that is barely visible.
‘품 POOM’ has the form and practicality of traditional Korean utensils, but it can also suggest a model for sustainable products, which will help to inform the world of Eco-friendly values that should not be overlooked in modern society. Furthermore, ‘품 POOM’ goes beyond being a ‘product’ with simple commercial value, and contains the value of ‘today through the past’ that the artist wants to convey, so we hope that it will be able to provide many values and experiences to the purchaser, just like the name of the object suggests.
